THE WEEKLY EVENT
🧬 Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun

Wednesday, June 17 at 10:00 AM through Sunday, June 21 at 8:00 PM local

Fossil Fun is the second Choose Your Path event. This one is the first themed run. Pokémon GO has doubled the options to six and tied encounters to Cranidos and Shieldon to each of the 3 paths below, as well as event-themed field research all week.

Choose a Path

You can choose one of the following Timed Research paths:

  • Explore

  • Catch

  • Battle

Once selected, your path cannot be changed.

The following bonuses are available depending on which path you choose. There are reports that some Trainers below level 40 may only receive the XP-related bonuses (the first three), and some Trainers may have a version where they can pick a different path bonus each day (with each day's choice granting its own associated Timed Research).

  • Explore (PokéStops): 5× XP for spinning PokéStops

  • Catch (XP): 1.5× XP for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better

  • Battle (Raids): An additional 5,000 XP for completing raids

  • Explore (Hatch): 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance bonus

  • Catch (Candy): Additional Candy for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better

  • Battle (Team GO Rocket): Extra Mysterious Components from Team GO Rocket Grunts

Field Research: Defeat a Team GO Rocket Grunt, Make 5 Nice Throws, or Explore 1 km. Each rewards a Cranidos or Shieldon encounter.

THE WEEKEND EVENT
🌏 Frigibax Community Day

Saturday June 20, 2:00–5:00 PM local.
Evolution window through 9:00 PM local.

Six straight Junes have featured a Dragon-type Community Day. Gible kicked it off in 2021, then Deino, Axew, Goomy, and Jangmo-o each took their turn. This year, it's Frigibax’s turn (Dragon/Ice).

Evolve Arctibax → Baxcalibur during the window to learn Glaive Rush (Dragon-type attack, 105 power in raids; 90 power + a defense decrease by one stage in PvP).

Bonuses: increased shiny chance, 3× Stardust, 2× Catch Candy, 2× XL Candy chance (L31+), 3-hour Incense, –50% Stardust trades, +1 Special Trade (for a max of 2). Do up to 5 AR Snapshots during the event for photobombs. The $1.99 Special Research adds 3 Special Background Frigibax encounters, a Premium Battle Pass, and Rare Candy XL.

Also, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, Frigibax will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules. Frigibax will have the same shiny odds during this time as during Community Day hours and a chance to have a special background.

GO BATTLE LEAGUE
🏆 Master League: Mega Edition and Sunshine Cup: Great League Edition

Timing: Tuesday, June 16 at 1:00 PM to Tuesday, June 23 at 1:00 PM PT.

Things are getting interesting with a type-restricted GL rotation and an ML run for the Mega Evolution fans. If you have ever wanted a spicy rank grind, this is your week.

Sunshine Cup (GL Edition) + Master League: Mega Edition starts Tue June 16 at 1:00 PM PDT through Tue June 23. 4× Stardust on win rewards active throughout.

Sunshine Cup (1500 CP): Normal, Fire, Grass, Ground only. Charizard is banned. The meta is Flying-heavy thanks to Normal/Flying duals. Top picks per Pokémon GO Hub: Toucannon (Peck / Drill Peck / Beak Blast), Pidgeot (Wing Attack / Feather Dance / Brave Bird), Trumbeak and Fearow (Shadow forms preferred).

Master League: Mega Edition (no cap with Megas allowed): Top picks per PvPoke: Primal Kyogre (#1), Mega Gyarados (#2), Mega Rayquaza (#3), Mega Garchomp (#4) and Mega Mewtwo Y (#5).

MAX MONDAY
🌀 Max Monday featuring Dynamax Roggenrola

Monday June 15, 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM local

Roggenrola isn't going to wow anyone on its own, but the Rare Candy XL bonus is brand new this week, and that could change things for anyone grinding Legendary attackers. This is one of those mini weekly events where you show up for the bonus and maybe get lucky with a good IV or shiny Roggenrola.

Roggenrola (Rock) at Power Spots all day. Evolution chain: Roggenrola → Boldore (50 Candy) → Gigalith (200 Candy or trade-evolve free).

Roggenrola is weak to Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel, and Water-type attacks. As a Tier 1 Dynamax boss, it’s a pushover.

NEW: in-person Max Battles on Mondays now award +1 Rare Candy XL per battle. This applies to ANY Max Battle Monday, not just Roggenrola.

Trainer Tip: Overlap your Power Spot route with an Adventure Sync route. Between hops you generate Zygarde Cells and Buddy Candy passively. Max Particles + Rare Candy XL + Cells in one outing.

Hundo check: 688 CP

🌅 Don’t Forget Daily Discoveries

Max Monday: runs 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM with more Power Spots active and more frequent refreshes. +1 Rare Candy XL per in-person Max Battle.

Showcase Tuesday: Enter up to 5 PokéStop Showcases from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, featuring up to 20 categories.

Raid Hour Wednesday: Raid Hour runs from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, featuring the current Legendary Pokémon that week.

GO Battle Thursday: Daily battle sets increase from 5 to 10 (50 total), with 4x Stardust from win rewards.

Friendship Friday: 2 Special Trades (max 2), –20% Stardust on trades, increased Lucky Trade chance, +2 guaranteed Candy XL from trades (L31+) — in-person trades only.

Scenic Sunday: More spawns on Routes, better Incense on Routes, reduced buddy candy distance on Routes, Mateo encounters up to 3x per day.

That's your week, Trainers. Good luck out there!
