All ticketed citywide play: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CESTCopenhagen is the third and final in-person GO Fest of 2026, after Tokyo (May 29 – June 1) and Chicago (June 5–7). The GO Fest event largely matches the previous two; what changes is the city-specific habitat, the Pikachu hat, and Copenhagen's LEGO collab (more below). This is also the last in-person window for Mega Mewtwo X/Y before GO Fest Global on July 11–12 opens them worldwide for free.
The headline for everyone, ticket or not: Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are running citywide and at the Park in Super Mega Raids, and Mewtwo caught from those Super Mega Raids arrives with Counter and Psystrike already taught AND its first Mega Level already unlocked — the same grind-skip from Chicago (covered in #17).
Park Experience exclusives (ticket holders, Fælledparken):
Zeraora — the Thunderclap Mythical's Pokémon GO debut via park Special Research (one Zeraora per Trainer across all 2026 GO Fest events; subsequent Special Research stories award Zeraora Candy instead)

Shiny Wash Rotom continues its in-person GO Fest debut from Tokyo and Chicago. Copenhagen is the last in-person window before GO Fest Global opens it more broadly.
Pokémon GO Expert medal + Mega Mewtwo choice (citywide ticket holders): Trainers receive four Timed Research sets on their first day of citywide play, each completable only in a different one of Copenhagen's four City Districts. Complete at least two districts to earn the Expert medal. Completing at least two ALSO unlocks the choice between a Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y encounter (with the first Mega Level unlocked) without needing the Park Super Mega Raid.
Copenhagen-only: LEGO Play Zone at Fælledparken plus Timed Research at participating LEGO stores throughout Copenhagen.
Mewtwo access without a ticket: The 5-Star Mewtwo raids citywide are accessible to anyone with a Remote Raid Pass who gets invited by an attending Trainer. Non-ticket catches don't get the Location Background or Counter/Psystrike, but they CAN get a shiny-eligible Mewtwo with standard 1/20 odds. However: the Super Mega Raid Mewtwo X/Y are ticket-holder-only.

💬 Spotlight Hour Returns Thursday, June 18, But It's a Little Different
After a 3-month pause that began with the Memories in Motion season launch on March 3, Spotlight Hour is back…sort of. Pokémon GO announced this week that the weekly event returns on Thursday, June 18, at 6:00–7:00 PM local. The catch: it's now stacking on top of GO Battle Thursday.
Showcase Tuesday continues to occupy the original Spotlight Hour slot for the rest of the Forever Forward season.

🤖 The Explorer Gadget Is Live (For Some Trainers)

Starting Wednesday, June 10, the Explorer Gadget, Pokémon GO's first virtual GO Plus+, began rolling out to selected accounts. The earliest reports came from GMT+8 (Asia-Pacific) shortly after 6:00 AM local that morning. It appears to be a limited test, not a global launch, so most trainers haven’t seen it yet.
What the rollout looks like in practice so far:
Once-per-day activation. Tap the Explorer Gadget item once to start the session. You get only one use per calendar day.
Auto-catches AND auto-spins. Same baseline functionality as the physical GO Plus and GO Plus+. It throws Poké Balls at any wild Pokémon you walk past, and spins any Gym or PokeStop in range.
Regular Poké Balls only. The Explorer Gadget doesn't throw Great Balls, Ultra Balls, or Premier Balls.
Background mode works. It runs while the Pokémon GO app is closed, exactly as the datamined description suggested.
The surprise: per-account daily limits vary.
The earliest accounts in the test are seeing two different caps:
35 catches AND spins per day
80 catches AND spins per day
The unconfirmed theory is that the 80-cap may be tied to the Monthly Deluxe Pass. If that holds, the Explorer Gadget is effectively a soft-paywall feature with a free baseline (35) and a paid upgrade (80) routed through existing Deluxe subscribers. That's a more accessible model than the $80–$100 hardware-purchase paywall the GO Plus+ represents. But if this is true, it may confirm community speculation that the gadget wouldn't arrive entirely free.
What's still unknown:
Full rollout timeline. Pokémon GO hasn't published an official launch post. There’s no confirmation yet on when other regions will get access.
Whether the 35 vs 80 gap is permanent. It may be a beta-testing variant that may change at the general launch.
Whether the daily reset is local midnight or GMT. Worth watching — affects when to activate near a time-zone reset.
