WELCOME BACK, TRAINERS!

The Memories in Motion season is winding down, and the game is loading its final week with some familiar raid bosses.

Tapu Fini rotates back into five-star raids on Wednesday morning, the last of the four Tapus to cycle through this season's rotation, a chance for collectors still working on the set. Mega Medicham returns to Mega Raids the same morning. Blanche's Quest begins this week with a shiny-eligible Incense pool that should keep dedicated shiny hunters busy through the no-cap GO Points weekend.

Under all of it, Memories in Motion closes June 2. More on that and the new season to come in the next issue.

Its citywide features are already live as of today, May 25, for trainers in Tokyo with a Citywide Gameplay add-on or City Explorer Pass — the Park Experience itself follows May 29.

  • Early access to Mega-Leveled Mewtwo: ticketed attendees get two opportunities to catch a Mewtwo already at Mega Level 1 unlocked (or Level 2 or 3 with some luck)

For non-ticket-holders in Tokyo: Citywide raids are still accessible, but catches won't carry Location or Special Background photo treatment, and Shiny Aqua Tauros is gated behind ticket access.

Trainer Tips

GO Fest Global on July 11-12 is free and worldwide. If you're hoarding PokeCoins for Remote Raid Passes for a big Legendary Pokémon event, that's your target date. Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y both debut there.

GO Battle Thursday this week (May 28) is one of the last two full Thursday windows before the GBL season ends. Get your rank grinds in while you can! Also, be sure to run your 10 battle sets with a Star Piece active to take advantage of Thursday's 4x Stardust from wins.

RAID BOSS ROTATION
⚔️ Raid Bosses This Week

Five-Star Raids

Tapu Fini: Wednesday, May 27, at 6:00 AM through Tuesday, June 2, at 10:00 PM

Tapu Fini is Water/Fairy-type. The final member of the Alolan guardian quartet to arrive in five-star raids. It's weak to Electric, Grass, and Poison-type attacks. Compared to Tapu Bulu, it's a tougher fight because none of its weaknesses overlap for double super effective, and its Defense stat is noticeably higher.

Shiny odds: 1/20

Hundo CPs: 1632 (L20) / 2041 (L25, weather-boosted by Cloudy or Rainy)

  • Shadow Raikou with Thunder Shock / Wild Charge is the best Electric-type Shadow Legendary for the job.

Budget counters:

  • Rillaboom with Drum Beating / Frenzy Plant [exclusive: Grookey Community Day move. Elite TM or event evolution only. Non-exclusive: Drum Beating / Grass Knot

  • Roserade with Poison Jab / Sludge Bomb, Poison hits the Fairy subtype; accessible and effective

Mega Raids

Mega Medicham returns Wednesday, May 27 at 6:00 AM through Tuesday, June 2 at 10:00 PM

Mega Medicham is a Fighting/Psychic type, weak to Ghost (×2), Flying (×2), and Fairy (×2). No double weaknesses, but three exploitable types means you have options. After the raid, you catch a regular Medicham.

Top Counters

Premium picks:

  • Mega Gardevoir with Charm / Dazzling Gleam, Fairy hits Fighting, Shadow Ball hits Psychic; Mega-Evolved attack boost.

  • Mega Gengar with Shadow Claw / Shadow Ball, Ghost moves hit Psychic; top DPS pick

  • Mega Mewtwo Y with Confusion / Psystrike [exclusive: Psystrike is Mewtwo's legacy Elite TM move]. Non-exclusive: Confusion / Psychic

Budget picks:

  • Gardevoir with Charm / Dazzling Gleam, Charm is slow but super-effective vs both Fighting and Psychic adjacently; good catch candidate from research quests

  • Togekiss with Charm / Dazzling Gleam, Fairy/Flying, super-effective on both Fighting and Psychic sides; accessible if you have Togepi Candy

With a chance to be shiny: Medicham shiny is available with boosted shiny odds in Mega raids.

Hundo CPs (base Medicham catch): 817 (L20) / 1022 (L25, weather-boosted by Cloudy or Windy)

MAX MONDAY
🌀 Max Monday featuring Dynamax Combee

Timing: Monday, May 25, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM local, at every Power Spot 6 PM–7 PM.

Combee is a Bug/Flying type, putting it in the lower tiers for Max Battle difficulty. It's a manageable fight for any level of Max Battle experience. Bring a couple of Fire-type or Rock-type Dynamax attackers, and you'll clear it without trouble.

After defeating a Dynamax Combee in the Max Battle, you get a chance to catch it. Combee is one of the few Pokémon in the game with a significant gender difference: only female Combee can evolve into Vespiquen (Bug/Flying). Male Combee has no evolution path.

Shiny Combee is available with a chance to be shiny from Max Battles.

Hundo check: 282 CP

Trainer Tips

Pokémon GO Hub’s Max tier lists put Dynamax Vespiquen E Tier as an attacker (don't bother) and D Tier as a healer (also don't bother), but C Tier as a defender, Bug Bite and Fury Cutter both fire at 0.5 seconds, which charges your team's Max Meter quickly. Not a top defender pick, but a legitimate sleeper if your Max Battle bench is thin (no Registeel, no Crowned Shield Zamazenta yet, etc.). Newer trainers especially get one investment's worth of value. For everyone else, Vespiquen is still primarily a Pokédex / shiny collection play.

🌅 Don’t Forget Daily Discoveries
